WC26 Predictions ("the app") is a companion app for the FIFA World Cup 2026. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. In short: there is no account, and we collect as little as possible.

What we do not collect

• No sign-up, login, name, email address or password.
• No precise location. The app detects a suggested team from your device's locale only — never GPS.
• No advertising, no third-party ad or analytics SDKs, and no tracking of you across other apps or websites (so iOS shows no tracking permission prompt).

What we process, and why

The app works fully offline with no data sent to us. The following is processed only when you use the features that need it:

• Device record. If you enable notifications, the app creates a randomly generated device identifier (a UUID, not tied to your identity) and stores your Apple Push Notification service (APNs) token. These are used solely to deliver the match notifications and Live Activity updates you asked for — kickoffs, goals, results and the optional daily schedule.
• Settings sync. So your preferences persist, your in-app settings — followed team, theme, language, projection model and time zone — may be saved against that device identifier.
• Locale & time zone. Used to localize the app and show kickoff times in your zone.

We never sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising or profiling.

Live data from third parties

To show the real tournament, the app fetches public data from ESPN (scores, fixtures, standings, scorers, match events) and Polymarket (betting-market prices used to compute projections). These are read-only requests for public information; we do not send your personal data to them. Your use of data those services provide is also subject to their own terms.

Where data is stored

The device record and synced settings are stored on our backend (wcpredictions.gabrielzim.com) on a managed database. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS / APNs).

Retention & deletion

We keep your device record and settings until you remove them. You can delete the app and disable notifications at any time. To have your device record and synced settings erased from our backend, email [email protected] and we'll delete them.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the new version here.
